No, no it’s not.

Divorced couple for over 10 years with three kids, dad left mum for younger model, had a demon child… One of the original kids is graduating, Divorced couple end up in the same hotel bar night before graduation, get a little bit tipsy and begin an affair.

That’s the plot and story for It’s Complicated a suprisingly funny film which REALLY tickled someone’s funny bone in the audience of the screening I went too, the poor woman was in stitches at some points, I thought she may cough up a lung with such laughter that I found myself laughing at her rather than the film.  Not to say the film wasn’t funny but she just made it even funnier with her hackling laugh.

This one’s gonna be short and sweet.  Practically every scene in this film is based around some sort of joke but with Meryl Streep playing the mother at the centre of this torrid affair, torn between her ex husband, the excitement of the affair and a potential new man on the scene, we are treated to some marvelous one liners as well as a lot of intermittant slap stick with folks falling over in bushes, falling off beds etc etc.  It’s tame stuff but it’s pulled off to practical perfection. 

This could be me looking through my rose tinted goggles again as I’ve liked Meryl Streep since ‘Music of my Heart’ a nice little rendition of a true story about a music teacher.

So that’s it basically, the plot is above, it’s funny… if you’re a chick you’ll love it.  If you’re a bloke you’ll find some aspects funny but the bits that do get you chuckling will really have you tittering to yourself.
